Bai Zhu (Atractylodes macrocephalae Rhizome)
Bai Zhu (Atractylodes macrocephalae Rhizome)
CO2 extracted white atractylodes rhizome
Our Bai Zhu essential oil has an earthy, sweet aroma with a light sharpness which imparts the distinctive nature of the raw medicinal herb. It has a rich, nourishing taste and a thick, opaque brown color. Upon inhalation it provides a warming, comforting and clarifying effect.
Bai Zhu is one of the most important Chinese medicines to tonify the Spleen Qi and therefore reenforce the proper transformation of food into the nutrition which provides the foundation for the production of Qi and blood for the body and supports mental and emotional clarity.
It stabilizes the exterior, stops excessive sweating from deficiency and strengthens the Wei protective Qi for those who are susceptible to wind, frequent colds, or allergies.
Bai Zhu is also used in Chinese medicine to maintain pregnancy when it is threatened due to Qi deficiency. For this purpose, practitioners may want to consider combining the essential oils of Bai Zhu, Wu Wei Zi (Schisandra Fruit), and a small percentage of Huang Qi (Astragalus Root) and Ai Ye (Artemesia argy Leaf) as a 3% dilution in sesame oil for gentle topical application on appropriate acupuncture points and channels.
