Houttuynia Cordata 

Our Yu Xing Cao essential oil is Co2 extracted from the heart leaf of Houttuynia Cordata, an herbaceous flowering plant growing in moist, shady areas of the hills of Guizhou Province, China.  

 This essential oil has an immediate tart and piquant aroma with heavy notes of the sea and of lemon.  

Yu Xing Cao with its cool, acrid nature and its deep affinity for the lung is renowned for its ability to clear heat, eliminate toxins and drain abscesses from the Lung. Not surprisingly Yu Xing Cao is excellent at helping to resolve cough as well as reducing and eliminating some of the more severe symptoms of Lung infection such as wheezing and expectoration of pus, phlegm, and blood. 

With its anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, antitussive and analgesic properties Yu Xing Cao has been demonstrated to produce statistically positive outcomes in the treatment of Chronic Bronchitis and Pneumonia in clinical studies and promoted by Chinese scientists for the treatment of SARS.  

Diffused into the air or applied topically as a chest rub, Yu Xing Cao essential oil works directly on the lungs. Combining with other essential oils such as Eucalyptus, Zi Su Ye (Perilla Leaf) and Song Zhen (White Pine Needle) will further enhance its effectiveness.
